Mission

The Portuguese Energy Agency (ADENE - Agência para a Energia) is a not-for-profit private association-type organisation, owned by the Portuguese Government through different organisations of the Ministry of Economy and Innovation, and by the private sector. Established in September 2000, ADENE succeded to the Energy Conservation Center (CCE) created in 1984. ADENE's mission is to promote and develop activities of public interest in the fields of energy and its interfaces with relevant non-energy sectors and policies, aiming to contribute to increase energy efficiency in all economic sectors, to foster market penetration of RES and to participate in the national effort of GHG reduction.
