Activities

The Commission regulates the rates and service quality of investor-owned electric, natural gas, and telephone utilities. regulates territorial jurisdiction over all retail electric companies, including cooperatives, independents, and municipals, registers interstate for-hire motor carriers and Licenses and inspects state public storage, state public grain warehouses and grain dealers. It operates the natural gas pipeline safety program, maintains the state's one-call notification center, which locates underground facilities and assists the public in making wise utility choices, promote consumer utility interests through public policy, and resolves disputes between customers and their utilities.
