Mission

To promote the development of electricity and gas markets in Europe; increase cooperation between regulators and the European Commission on the other hand. CEER has close links with the European Regulators Group for Electricity and Gas (ERGEG), the advisory group to the European Commission in consolidating the Internal Energy Market. CEER aims to improve good regulatory practice, through the activities of the Florence School of Regulation.
 

Activities

CEER's activities are focused on reducing barriers to cross border trade and realising an efficient internal market in Europe; ensuring non-discriminatory access to infrastructure; effective competion and an efficient Internal Energy Market in Europe, mechanisms to deal with congestion, market and cross border trade; transparency of information and effective unbundling. It has 5 technical working gorups: Electricity, Gas, Single Energy Market, South East Europe Energy Regulation, Information, Training and Benchmarking. CEER provides support to the European Commission in the European Electricity Regulatory Forum (Florence Forum), the European Gas Regulatory Forum (Madrid Forum) and the forum for South East Europe (Athens Forum)
