Its mission is to provide cost-efficient, market-oriented solutions to the environmental challenges of the Central American countries. The Mission of BUN-CA is to contribute towards the development and strengthening of Central America's capacity in order to raise production through the sustainable use of its natural resources, as a means to improve the quality of life of its inhabitants.

BUN-CA executes projects and services in three areas, i.e.: Renewable Energy which encourages and supports the use of small-scale renewable energy sources, Energy Efficiency as a means to improve competitiveness, and Agro-industrial Re-conversion, integrating actions for a sustainable production of services and products.
