The WBCSD is first and foremost an Advocacy organization for leading business on sustainable development issues. In order to be effective and credible, WBCSD continues to build and up-date its intellectual capital through Issues Management. It facilitates the exploration of sustainable development issues of relevance to member companies. It lays the facts around a topic so that business and others can engage in a factual and non-emotional dialogue. Where appropriate it builds policy positions that provide business perspectives - and their positive contribution - to global, regional and national policy processes.
