Mission

The Centre for Energy and Environmental Markets (CEEM) at the University of New South Wales undertakes interdisciplinary research in the design, analysis and performance of energy and environmental markets and their associated policy frameworks. The University has formally established CEEM, under the joint leadership of the Faculties of Engineering, and Commerce and Economics.
 

Activities

CEEM’s current research focuses on the following specific topics: design and performance evaluation of markets for energy, energy-related derivatives and environmental instruments design and instrument trading; development of experimental market platforms to facilitate the development of efficient market designs; applications of artificial intelligence techniques to energy and environmental market analysis; design and performance evaluation of policy frameworks and policy instruments (other than markets) for the stationary energy sector, water and related applications; and economic valuation methodologies and their application to energy and environmental issues.
