Mission

METAP is an innovative partnership that brings together countries in the Mediterranean region and multilateral donors to assist beneficiary countries in project preparation and strengthen their capacity in regional environmental management

 

Activities

METAP activities are divided into two main components: Capacity Building and Project Preparation

the main sectors are: water quality management, municipal and hazardous waste management and policy and legislation tools, realized through knowledge management and local capacity building

there are some points in the activities of METAP which are related to RE:

  • the Costs of Environmental Degradation program analyzes, as one point of interest, urban air pollution its health impacts and economic costs
  • to build regional capacity for knowledge acquisition, sharing and use in order to assist the member countries to better achievement of their environmental and sustainable development goals is another action of METAP
