R&D institution dealing with questions of energy saving, RE and their impact on the environment.the intention is to foster the development of RE, the rational use of energy and energy saving, taking the connected environmental issues into account.

PEC is one of the institutions of the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) and is subordinated to the PNA ministry of economy

• from 1996 to 2000 the PEC organized three conferences concerning RE: PV, Wind Energy, Natural Gas,…only the political situation stopped the continuation of these conferences
• released different reports, for instance: ETSU industry report (overview over Palestinian industry and energy use); Palestine CDM country report; IRESMED final report (Integration of the Renewable Energies in the Southern Mediterranean Countries, the large-scale integration of photovoltaic for decentralized rural electrification)
• worked on different studies about the possibilities of different energy solutions, for example cogeneration, fuel cell cogeneration and solar energy, on the industrial or local level

• member of MEDENER ( Mediterranean Association of the National Agencies for Energy Conservation)
