The interest for the development of renewable energies was perceived very early in Algeria with the creation of the solar energy institute as soon as 1962.

This willingness to promote renewable energies notably resulted in :

the setting of specialized agencies to promote research and development in this field,

the development of sensitivity and popularization actions for the purpose of these energy sources promotion,

the setting of an institutional environment necessary to give impetus to real renewable energies development programs.

The creation of small and medium services companies specialized in the installation and maintenance of equipment, engineering, surveys and consulting.
