The Center for Energy Efficiency EnEffect is a non-profit NGO, established in 1992 in Sofia. Its establishment has been called forth by the acute need of energy conservation throughout society - in households, industry, transport, construction, agriculture and the energy sector. By its active involvement in activities to improve energy efficiency, EnEffect supports the efforts of the Bulgarian central and local authorities and private sector actors to attain sustainable development.
EnEffect has been founded with the initial financial support of Battelle/Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, USA, in collaboration with the US Environmental Protection Agency, the US Department of Energy and the US Agency for International Development.
The projects developed by EnEffect are funded by US, European, Japanese, international and Bulgarian organizations. The US Agency for International Development, the European Commission, the United Nations, the Global Environment Facility, and the Regional Environmental Center are sponsors of the most significant projects implemented by EnEffect.
