The ersol Group is a successful photovoltaics company with four production plants in Arnstadt, Erfurt and Camarillo in California. In Erfurt in Thuringia ersol produces multi and monocrystalline silicon solar cells; it has also started setting up thin film module production. Erfurt is also the head office of the ersol Group which consists of four subsidiaries and a joint venture in China. In its different business segments ersol Solar Energy AG posted sales of € 128 million in 2006.
