The Ministry of Economy is responsible for energy policy, including energy efficiency policies.

The improved energy end-use efficiency in Poland will be enhanced by "National Energy Efficiency Action Plans" where the following areas of activities will be specified:

•  energy assessment of buildings (the certification of new and existing buildings);

•  improved energy generation efficiency (particularly a highly efficient co-generation);

•  reduction of energy transmission and distribution losses;

•  using energy-saving appliances and equipment (the reduction of energy consumption by 'stand-by' mode);

•  raising public awareness on energy efficiency by informational campaigns and education;
•  promotion of a more rational use of energy by domestic appliances.
