The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Labour (MCIL) came into existence in May 2003, through passage into law of the Ministerial and Departmental Arrangement Act 2003.

The Ministry is responsible for, and focal point to, a wide number of sectors. As a result, its CEO is a key advisor in government's integrated approach to effectively manage/implement development projects.

The Ministry's primary role is to provide the highest level of professional service delivery to government and private sector; and stay in full compliance within its legal mandate.
