Mission

EASE stands for Enabling Access to Sustainable Energy. EASE is a partnership of NGOs from Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe: Energética in Bolivia; TaTEDO in Tanzania, RCEE in Vietnam and ETC in the Netherlands.

EASE's aims to bring modern energy technologies within the reach and control of the rural poor in developing countries. The target of EASE is to reach one million people with modern energy access during the period 2007-2015.

Activities

To achieve this, the EASE partners work on better understanding the energy needs of the poor and the opportunities to reach them with modern energy access. EASE starts from the local realities of the rural poor and the existing capacities in the rural areas. The energy products that can serve these needs are then to be made avilable within the mobility range of the poor, by building as much as possible on the existing local capacities and natural roles of local companies and community organizations.
