Mission

Renewable Energy Network (www.renove.org.br) is currently Brazil ’s largest renewable-energy NGO network. RENOVE has become increasingly effective and active in policy promotion and capacity building. RENOVE has worked to identify existing barriers to renewable energy technologies and to propose solutions for the Universal Electrification and Renewable Energy technical committees. Having started with sixteen founding members in June of 2000, RENOVE has now thirty-four effective member organizations and eight collaborators, which work in a variety of areas of sustainable development, including , education, agro-forestry, fruit drying and craftwork.

Our activities already have been supported by Brazil Rural Energy Enterprise Development Programme (supported by UNEP Risoe Centre on Energy Climate and Sustainable Development) and Renewable Energy and Development Consortium (supported by USAID) and REEP (renewable energy and energy efficiency partnership-an

RENOVE have a strong relationship with members at the House of Representatives, Mines and Energy Ministry and Regulatory Agency, and has vast experience in writing legislation and regulation drafts, and an excellent relationship with all entities involved. Project team includes BOD members of the International Solar Energy Society – ISES, which are very familiar with the German grid-connected solar-photovoltaic roofs-program; background on renewable energy systems in the Amazon, many years of experience at the Brazilian Regulatory Agency and several awards regarding business models on renewable energy (e.g. Schwab foundation, Alexander von Humboldt Foundation). Our fellows participate of the most important worldwide networks as AVINA and ASHOKA.
