The group sees itself as community driven and financially orientated.They want to provide financial and technical support to communities working to develop, built and own renewable energy projects. Founded with a capital of 3 million dollars they can support development activities pursuing local renewable energies. Short term goal is an increase to 75 MW community power installed, and funding for about 15 community power projects.

They have 2.5 million to give in grants, and another 500 000 dollar to go into operations and capacity building. They also seek money to turn into a sustainable loan and investment group in order to ensure sufficient financial resources to fund future projects.
