Founded in 1993, a year after Earth Summit in Rio, wants to encourage individuals, organizations and governments to make ecological and equitable choices, as well as to promote solidarity. Its four programs consist of the Ecological Agriculture Program, the Fair Trade program, the Sustainable Transportation Program and the Energy Efficiency Program. Their aim is to point out solutions not problems, and to bring about positive change.
Their activities includes the making availiable organic and fair foods, especially from South America. They stimulate citizen action with things such as Organic baskets.They offer free house-visits to family homes in order to point out potential to save energy all well as money, and they come up with ideas for individual transportation cocktails (bus, car-share, bike, walk) to reduce GHG emissions. They teach energy efficient habits that are also kind to ones wallet and therefor put responsibility to each and every one.
. GREEN ENERGY WORLD EXPO 2010 is scheduled to be held from 14 – 16 October 2010 at Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai, India.
The theme of “Save Environment for future protection” is an International exhibition on energy generation and conservation, a showcase of the progress made, deliberation on potential opportunities and a review of challenges facing the industry and the creation of a roadmap for sustainable growth and development.
