Mission

The Center provides non-financial services to ACP companies and to joint initiatives of ACP and EU economic operators in various economic sectors, with the main aim to increase competitiveness of ACP enterprises.

Activities

The strategy developed by the CDE to fulfil its mandate can be summarised in four main points : - direct assistance to SMEs, mainly in the framework of sector programmes that are essential for the economies of the ACP countries, but also for individual projects ; - support for capacity building of intermediary organisations (in complementarity with the Pro€Invest programme, which the Centre has “managed” since 2002), particularly with regard to training and information, to promoting SMEs and to public/private dialogue ; - support for financial institutions, particularly with regard to pre- and post-investment activities in the context of financing SMEs, as well as training SME project appraisers in the financial institutions ; - assistance for ACP consultants as regards training and information, as well as facilitating partnerships with their EU counterparts.
