Mission

The Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) is your source for information and networking in the dynamic fields of energy engineering and energy management, renewable and alternative energy, power generation, energy services, sustainability, and all related areas. As a growing professional association, AEE’s overall strength is augmented by its strong membership base of over 14,000 professionals in 83 countries and its widely recognized energy certification programs. Its network of 70 local chapters located throughout the U.S. and abroad meet regularly to discuss issues of regional importance.

Each year the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) presents an exciting line-up of conference and trade show events for energy and facility professionals.     Since 1981 AEE has certified more than 22,000 professionals, enabling them to receive special recognition for their expertise in a variety of specialized areas of the energy, power, green facilities, industry. AEE's certification programs are recognized by such government agencies as the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Agency for International Development, as well as by Fortune 1000 corporations, utilities and energy service companies. When you earn your certification credential, you are distinguishing yourself among colleagues in your field, and demonstrating high levels of experience, competence and specialized knowledge. Since its inception in 1981, AEE's most popular certification, the Certified Energy Manager (CEM) credential, has become widely accepted and used as a measure of professional accomplishment within the energy management field. It has gained industry-wide use as the standard for qualifying energy professionals both in the United States and abroad. It is recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy, the Office of Federal Energy Management Programs (FEMP), and the U.S. Agency for International Development, as well as by numerous state energy offices, major utilities, corporations and energy service companies.
